“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” – Matthew 24:36
Radio host, Harold Camping, predicted that the Jesus would return this past Saturday. Several who believed him put up billboards around the nation and stood on street corners holding signs to warn others. Maybe you saw a few of them in downtown Holland. But Saturday came and went just like any other day, proving once again that Jesus was right when he said “no one knows about that day or hour.” Mr. Camping of course has ignored Jesus’ words and is now predicting that October 11, 2011 is the correct date.
Many like, Mr. Camping have tried and will continue to try to predict the second coming of Christ, but I will always choose to believe the words of Jesus. We will not know and we cannot know that day or hour. Although we do not know when it will happen, we can be assured that it will happen someday and sometime. It could be today, tomorrow or many, many years from now. Therefore we shouldn’t spend our time worrying about when it will happen, but prepare ourselves and do our part to work towards the fulfillment of God’s Kingdom.
Prayer: Lord, I thank you for the promise that Jesus will return again. I look forward to that day expectantly, but I also thank you that I do not know when that day will be. Help me to live for your Kingdom in this day. Amen.
Faith Tip: Are you prepared for when Jesus comes again? Have you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior? If not do so today, if so then do something today that will glorify God.
